Tax Managers in Tax

We are pleased to be recruiting for Tax Managers to join our team!

As leaders in the Tax Department, tax managers are responsible for organizing and managing client assignments and projects. Leaders will maintain a high degree of technical competence while coaching, supervising, motivating, and directing the work of less tenured staff members.  They will be able to measure their own success on the impact they have had on others.

Tax Managers will:

  • Interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise.
  • Conduct primary and secondary review of complicated or complex income tax returns for a variety of entities.
  • Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively.
  • Consult, work with, and service clients to make recommendations on business and process improvements and serves as a business advisor to clients.
  • Establish and nurture ongoing strong and effective working relationships with peer client levels.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the firm's values and uses firm values to guide internal and external behaviors.
  • Actively participate in and seek new marketing and business development responsibilities.
  • Coach and advise team members, provide consistent recognition and constructive feedback, and lead by example by demonstrating high energy and enthusiasm.
  • Lead various firm initiatives and programs, including training & CPE, business development and marketing activities, and recruiting events.
  • Identify area(s) to specialize in, and refine their skills, knowledge, and expertise.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in the following niches: Construction, Real Estate, Hospitality, Professional Services, and Technology/Life Sciences.

Candidates will be able to demonstrate a strong business acumen and analytical mindset.  They will be able to manage multiple responsibilities in the face of competing priorities.  They will approach their work with a “can-do” attitude, take ownership of the success of others as well as themselves, communicate professionally and tactfully, and be forward-thinking. Individuals at this level normally have at least five years of relevant public accounting experience and have passed the CPA exam.  A Master’s Degree in Taxation is preferred, but not required.
