John Smolke, CPA, Partner

Professional Experience

Prior to joining Peterson Sullivan, Mr. Smolke was a tax partner with Deloitte & Touche for six years.  As director of the Firm’s tax practice, John has significant experience in various industries including manufacturing, retail, real estate, construction, and timber.  He is involved in all areas of corporate and partnership taxation including organization, acquisitions, reorganizations, and liquidations.  He is also experienced in accounting method changes, like-kind exchanges, involuntary conversions, payroll/fringe benefits, and representation before the Internal Revenue Service on disputed tax returns.

Civic Activities

John is the past treasurer of the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club and past president of the Seattle Tax Group.
