Professional ExperienceMr. Pauw is a senior manager and has been with Peterson Sullivan since 1984. John (“Jack”) focuses his practice on corporate tax, international tax planning, and Alaska Native Corporations. His tax practice encompasses a broad range of federal income tax issues, including corporate, partnership, individual, estate, and trust. Jack specializes in international tax planning and compliance, including controlled foreign corporations, U.S. real property interests, passive foreign investment companies, international reorganizations, and cross-border withholding. Clients include U.S. corporations with foreign subsidiaries and foreign-owned U.S. corporations. He has extensive experience with federal tax issues involving Alaska Native Corporation. Civic ActivitiesJack serves on the Rainier Beach Presbyterian Church Finance Committee and did volunteer work in urban forest restoration. Jack and his wife, Jane, sponsored Cambodian and Ethiopian refugees and have also hosted French and Japanese foreign exchange students. EducationJack received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Philosophy and Economics at Calvin College in 1977, and received his MBA in Accounting at the University of Southern California in 1984. Personal ActivitiesJack and Jane have two college-age daughters, Natasha and Tara. They enjoy hiking, climbing, cross-country skiing, bird watching and world travels. |
